St Lawrence is a picturesque village which nestles in the shelter of the Undercliff in a designated area of outstanding natural beauty. The area is a walkers' paradise. The route of the Isle of Wight Coastal path - a sixty mile trail right around the Island - passes directly in front of the cottage.
Five minutes walk can take you down to the sea at the normally empty Woody Bay or by steep footpath up to the downland above St Lawrence. There are various beaches and visitor attractions within a short distance of the village.
The village general store, post office and newsagent is just 200 yards from the cottage. The shop sells all in the way of day-to-day essentials, and the friendly proprietors are a useful source of general information. There are several pubs and restaurants within a two mile radius of the village.
